Very finely cast seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with his right hand in bhumisparsa mudra, the body elegantly modelled and wearing a diaphanous robe draped across his left shoulder, his face with a benign expression surmounted by a domed ushnisha

Lot Essay

This very finely modeled bronze is unusual in the way it combines a Nepalese style with a very detailed double-lotus base with beaded rim. It may possibly be viewed as a precursor for the refined Yongle Imperial style.
