Lot Essay

cf.D.Howard and J.Ayers, op.cit., p.70, pl.27. The authors suggest that the untraced composition is reminiscent of Delftware designs of the 'Adam and Eve' type. Examples of this design: Municipal Museum, Arnhem; Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
