A Chinese famille rose 'Baragon Tumed' dish, 1830-1850
with shallow flared rounded sides, the interior enamelled with a lotus medallion, encircled by a border containing the Eight Buddhist Emblems alternating with shou characters repeated below the rim, the cavetto with the 'Seven Regal Treasures' within leaf-shaped panels supported on lotus blossoms alternating with tasselled lion-masks, iron-red Baragon Tumed mark in Mongolian script -- 9 5/16in. (23.6cm.) diam.

Vessels bearing the Baragon Tumed mark are traditionally known as being part of a service made in the Imperial factories to celebrate the marriage of a granddaughter of the Daoguang emperor to a Mongolian prince of the Tumed banner.
