With a fully sculpted eagle perched on rockwork above floral scrolls, the circular molded mirror frame with a ropetwist band punctuated by lotus leaves surrounding a convex mirror plate, the frame affixed with brass candlearms with glass shades above a scrolling foliate apron, regilt, the back with paper label for 'THOMAS FENTHAM 136 STRAND', regilt

Lot Essay

Thomas Fentham, carver, gilder, glass grinder and picture-frame maker, occupied several addresses in the Strand between 1774 and 1825. His trade label is recorded on mirrors throughout his working life.
