With a c-scroll, floral and acanthus-cast crest and gilt-on green-painted ground, above a similarly-mounted case with glazed door and sides,the ormolu dial with individual white enamel Roman and Arabic chapters, the enamel centre signed E.T CHE. F.COIS HOUBLIN/A PARIS, original blued steel hands, the movement with
rectangular plates joined by five back-pinned knopped pillars, twin barrels with verge escapement and silk suspension, calibrated countwheel strike on bell above, the back plate signed E the fr houblin Paris, the base with similar mounts and painted decoration, stamped 'F. GOYER' four times and 'JME' three times, the works to back inscribed 'Ethe. fr. houblin A Paris'
