IRAN, THIRD QUARTER 19TH CENTURY
With rounded ends and sliding tray, the top painted with three cartouches depicting bearded prophets against a ground decorated with a hunting scene, the sides with landscapes with some elaborate buildings, divided by three cartouches on each side, the outer two containing European-style portraits, and the middle one depicting two seated characters, the black base with central gold birds and leafy vine, the red tray similar, complete with gold inkwell with openwork filigree cover and eight writing impliments, minimal repair
