The center finely painted with the death of King Ottocar II, identified below 'Kaiser Rudolf von Habsburg beiden Leiche Ottokars 1278' , the border finely painted with half-medallions depicting the following historic scenes:
'Maria Theresia von den un garn 1740.'
'Kaiser Josef II im Kontrolorgang 1790.'
'Erzherzog Karl bei Aspern 1809.'
'Walhensteins Absetzung 1630.'
'König sujeski Rückt zum ent satz von Wien 1683.' and

Lot Essay

Ottokar II was King of Bohemia (1253 - 1278). During his reign his domain reached the Adriatic Sea and included most of the later Hapsburg crown lands. Ultimately he was defeated in a fierce battle against the Germans and Hungarians.
