8° (175 x 100mm). With 2 leaves of ads. (Occasional loss in margins, sometimes affecting a few letters, a few tears, occasional spotting.) Contemporary blue papered boards (rubbed and scuffed, spine head chipped). Provenance: a contemporary reader (signature on rear blank) -- Aleksandr Smirdin (bookplates) -- Rossica (bookplate) -- Paul M. Fekula.
FIRST EDITION. THE SMIRDIN--FEKULA COPY, with both the early and late Smirdin bookplates, and in the original binding. Minin raised an army, commanded by Prince Pozharskii, and with the Cossak leader Prince Trubetskoi drove the Poles from Moscow.
