A famille rose ruby ground bowl, Daoguang mark and period (1822-1851)
decorated to the exterior in coloured enamels with four roundels variously depicting fruiting pomegranate and peach branches and blossoming peony, surrounded by lotus flowerheads on a scrolling ruby ground, the interior in underglaze blue with a woven basket of flowersprays, surrounded by a band of fruiting and blossoming branches, Daoguang underglaze blue mark to base -- 5 7/8in. (14.8cm.) diam.
