AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY RUSSIAN SILVER-GILT & CLOISONNE ENAMEL SNUFF BOX,
MARK OF 6TH.MOSCOW ARTEL, 1908/17,
Rectangular, the cover & sides all-over enamelled, the cover with polychrome shaded enamel flowers on deep lavender blue panel on an olive green ground, a band of ammonites & red oval beads on pale mint green ground with a deep pink panel on either side decorated with pendent beads, the sides with geometric & scroll motifs in shaded enamels on pale blue ground bordered in grass green, 2¼ in. long (5.8 cm.) ALSO a similar snuff box by Nikolay Zverev, 1908/17, cover with shaded enamel flowers on dark red panel set on pale blue ground, sides with polychrome shaded enamel flowers on cream ground with scrolls above on a turquoise band, 2 3/8 in. long (6 cm.).
