CIRCA 1730, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK, GILDER'S NUMERAL 17. TO BOTH
Painted in Schwarzlot with harbour scenes with figures in conversation and at various pursuits before ships, within oviform gilt line cartouches with flattened ends above and below and with Böttger-lustre panels, purple diaper panels supporting small vases and edged with purple scrolls shaded in lustre, flanked by purple indianische Blumen, the scroll handle with further indianische Blumen, below a gilt Laub-und-Bandelwerk border, the rim and footrim with broad gilt bands, the domed cover with a continuous landscape about a gilt onion finial and above concentric iron-red circles, within a gilt band border (small areas of wear to the gilding)
