Muromachi period (16th Century), inscribed Kanemoto
Hira-zukuri, iori-mune, itame with togariba tempered edge with a long turnback; tang ubu with one hole; silver habaki; 7 5/8in. (19.3cm.) long; gold and black togidashi lacquer aikuchi koshirae with black takamaki-e mists and crashing waves and clouds with gold dots of foam; fittings including fuchi-kashira, kojiri silver, all carved with dragons in crashing waves with gold highlights; menuki carved as temple bells; no kozuka; 19th century
