Muromachi period (16th century), signed Kunitoshi
Hira-zukuri, iori-mune forged in itame with tempered edge suguha of nioi, carved with marudome and futatsu-bi, tang ubu with three holes, gold habaki; 6in. (15.2cm.) long; 19th-century aikuchi koshirae comprising nashiji saya with clouds in black lacquer, fittings silver with ishime-ji finish formed with "drip-glaze" edges, tsuka ribbed black lacquer
