Muromachi period (16th century)
Hon-zukuri, iori-mune, chu-gissaki with itame hada and indistinct hamon, bohi carved on both sides, tang o-suriage with two holes, 21 3/8in. (54.2cm.) long; black-lacquer tachi goshirae with lacquered kanagu, black-lacquer kawa-nuri mokko tsuba decorated with red family crests, tsuka wrapped with leather lacquered black, copper migaki-ji fittings, 18th century
