SONG DYNASTY (960-1279)
With shallow sides rising to an everted rim, covered overall with a mottled soft greenish-brown glaze thinning to mushroom on the edge of the rim and on the narrow foot ring where it continues over the foot to cover the slightly concave base with its three spur marks, the well inscribed with a lengthy inscription extolling the glaze and bearing a Qianlong jisi cyclical date, corresponding to 1749
7 1/8 in. (18 cm.) diam.
