Possibly the cover for a stool, finely embroidered in the center with a central flower head surrounded by four lotus sprays and angular scroll motifs separated by bats, within an outer border of conjoined foliate spandrels and ruyi heads, all picked out in shades of pink, red, blue, greenish-blue and black
13½ in. (34.3 cm.) square, lucite box frame
Provenance
Frigate Captain Roman Junowicz, acquired in China c. 1900, and subsequently taken to Austria.
