Modeled as the three Graces standing hand in hand, their backs to a column molded with stiff-leaf tips, on a tripartite base molded with acanthus and painted with views of the 'Castle on Chillon', 'Loch Ard' and 'Unterseen', identified on the underside, within gilt 'beaded' roundels, all raised on three small circular feet, mounted as a lamp

Lot Essay

According to the Copeland statuary Porcelain catalogue of 1848, this group was produced in 3 sizes. The model was originally meant to be the centerpiece for a dessert table, surmounted by a pierced basket. Compare Paul Atterbury with Maureen Batkin, The Parian Phenomenon, Somerset, 1989, p. 173.
