A GREEK RED-FIGURE SKYPHOS
LATE 5TH-4TH CENTURY B.C., POSSIBLY BOEOTIAN
Side A: a kithara player walking to right, wearing long elaborate dotted chiton and himation, with foliate wreath in hair
Side B: a winged Eros seated on rocky outcrop holding out a necklace in extended hand, which he has taken from an open pyxis in his left arm
Palmettes below the handles and concentric rings on the base
5½ in. (14 cm.) high
