A Four panel lacquer screen, Meiji Period (1868-1912)
decorated in gold and silver hiramakie and takamakie with kirigane and kimpun, on a background of red lacquer with gold dust, each panel depicting from left to right: a flowering plum tree, wisteria, sprays of kiku and a cherry tree, each above smaller panels with the emblems of the Gods of Good Fortune, the whole surrounded by borders in hirame, the reverse in nashiji with chidori birds in flight above waves, engraved silver kanagu -- 15 1/8in. (38.5cm.) wide.
