Against a circular mandorla Christ trampling on the broken gates of the Underworld, leaning to his right and pulling Adam out of his sarcophagus, Eva stretching her hands towards the Saviour while raising herself from her own tomb, in the foreground the winged Devil prostrating in his grave, the event attended by Old Testament figures, to the left identifiable the Kings David and Solomon, Abel and John the Forerunner, the upper part of the panel dominated by the New Testament Trinity in a medallion carried by angels; the icon executed traditionally mainly with complimentary green and red nuances, the background with traces of gold
