A French enamel, gilt-brass and rouge marble eight day globe timepiece
Circa 1890
The painted enamel globe with English inscriptions, with monogram within a cartouche, steel hour hand curving from the Arctic to indicate the time on a gilt-brass band at the equatorial position applied with twice 12 individual white enamel Arabic chapters, also calibrated 0-11 twice and engraved with half hour markers, the globe pivoted within a circular frame for manual adjustment, the hour hand revolving once every 24 hours, single barrel movement with platform cylinder escapement, on baluster column rising from a circular base on octagonal red marble plinth
