Lot Essay
The vendor of this lot sang backing vocals for the track Loop de Loop as featured on Harry Nilsson's 1974 Pussy Cats album produced by John Lennon. Lennon and Nilsson had become close during Lennon's "Lost Weekend" of 1973/1974, and had decided to collaborate on an album. The father of one of the vendor's friends worked at the recording studio and was asked to book some children to sing backing vocals. The vendor recalls that We were supposed to sing...as if we were at a wild party, with whoops and hollers... After the recording session, many of the children asked for autographs and Lennon ...acquiesced with good grace...we all got Harry Nilsson's autograph too though we had no idea who he was.
