Lot Essay

Derived from Sanskrit, Lantsa is an exclusively written language and is used in Tibetan sacred texts. This mantra translates to "Praise him who is the jewel in the lotus." For a similar panel, see Chinese Textiles, Spink & Son Ltd., London, 5 - 23 December, 1994, p. 19, cat. no. 14.
