A sandstone head of Avalokiteshvara
Khmer, Angkor Period, Angkor Wat Style, 12th century
His round face delicately carved with full lips, stylized almond-shaped eyes and protruding brow, his face flanked by elongated earlobes and his hair arranged into neatly braided rows, rising to a conical topknot centered by Amitabha and topped by a lotus finial, his hair secured with a foliate crown tied at verso
