Including a green stone heart scarab, New Kingdom, circa 1292-1080 B.C., 1¼ in. (3.2 cm.) long; a turquoise glazed composition cowroid, rev. inscribed hieroglyphs "All praise, happiness and life", New Kingdom, 3/8 in. (1.1 cm.) long; a Late New Kingdom turquoise glazed composition papyrus bundle-backed seal, the underside with sun disc, a serpentine figure flanked by snake, standing on a nwb (gold) sign, circa 1186-715 B.C., 1½ in. (3.8 cm.) long; a turquoise glazed composition scarab, rev. recumbent royal sphinx wearing the double crown before a conical offering, with the hieroglyphs Men-maat-re, reign of Seti I, 1291-1278 B.C., 1 1/8 in. (2.8 cm.) long; an 'Amarna' turquoise glazed composition dancing tambourine-playing Bes amulet, late Dynasty XVIII, ½ in. (1.3 cm.) high; an 'Egyptian blue' scarab, rev. with kneeling worshipping male above nb (basket) sign, Saite Period, circa 6th Century B.C.; two turquoise 'faience' scarab wings with holes for attachment; other scarabs and amulets, including a wedjat-eye, ram's head wearing sun disk, White Crown of Upper Egypt, papyrus column, Ptaichos and Ptah, and three blue glass head roundels, 2 1/8 in. (5.4 cm.) high max.; and a fragmentary turquoise glazed composition shabti of the Priest of Ptah and Chief Scribe of the ... of Ptah, Ahmose, circa 6th Century B.C., 4¼ in. (10.7 cm.) high (a lot)
Provenance
English private collection, acquired by the present owner's grandfather, the Revd. George Henry Judd, F.R.G.S., in the late 19th/early 20th Century.Accompanying ink and pencil inscribed labels include, "Lotus column ... Bouto", "... Edfu, Jan. 19th 1904" and "Sakkarah mummy beads".
