Lot Essay

Completed between the 11th of October and the 11th of November 1895, Solon's Illustrated Journal records, One pair. bronze gr.(ound) Barometer. The Mintons Shape Book of the same year notes, 'pair, 3072, "Barometer of Love" peacock-blue' and illustrates an uncovered vase of this form. It is also interesting to note that the archival image illustrates the pair prior to gilding.
