A RARE TEADUST-GLAZED JARDINIERE
YONGZHENG IMPRESSED FOUR-CHARACTER SEALMARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735)

The jardinière is strongly potted with rounded sides rising to a thickened rim, all covered in a mottled green glaze, the base with a brown wash and incised with the four-character reign mark
7 1/8 in. (18.1 cm.) diam., Japanese wood box

Lot Essay

A larger example of this shape incised with a similar Yongzheng mark is in the Qing Court collection, covered with a brown glaze, illustrated in Monochrome Porcelain, The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum, Commercial Press, Hong Kong, 1999, p. 66, no. 60.
