With flat blade struck with the letter A on one side and with another small mark on the reverse, recessed ricasso incorporating a pair of down-curved lugs and retaining its leather covering, blackened iron hilt of flat bars incorporating inner and outer ring-guards enclosing a single rectangular solid plate, down-turned quillons decorated with projecting tightly curled rounded spirals, punched engraved fluted pommel, and moulded two-stage grip retaining its original leather binding over cord
