TWO RARE OPAQUE JADE SLENDER FISH PENDANTS
LATE SHANG/EARLY WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, CIRCA 1200-1100 BC
The upper beveled edge of each arched body incised with a zigzag design indicating the dorsal fin, the lower edge beveled on only one side and incised with pectoral fins, the tapering head with circular eyes, notches on the lower edge and pierced with a biconical hole, the other end tapering to a beveled notched edge, the stone now opaque and of warm ivory color with satin-like polish, traces of cinnabar
