SIGNED BAQI MUHAMMAD BIN AMIR MUHAMMAD AL-BUKHARI, PROBABLY TRANSOXIANA, DATED AH 966/1558-59 AD
Arabic manuscript on paper, with 6 horizontal panels alternately containing either a line of gold or green thuluth or two smaller lines of naskh, the final panel with 8ll. of alternating bold and fine naskh and containing the signature of Baqi Muhammad bin Amir Muhammad al-Bukhari and a date of 966, around these a wide border of angular cusped cartouches containing elegant black thuluth alternated with star-shaped panels of red or green calligraphy on gold ground and surrounded by gold and polychrome illumination, all the panels with gold and blue outlines and laid down on gold-sprinkled card, minor losses
