THREE JADE PENDANTS, SHANG DYNASTY (1600-1100BC)
a pale celadon jade fragment of bracelet in the form of a flanged disc, the stone with alteration and with remains of cinnabar to surface, shaped to the outer edges, two drills holes to either end of disc; a completely altered jade blade pendant, of buff tone, the body of long slightly tapered rectangular form with raised embellishments to the long sides, wide drill hole to the upper edge; a deep celadon jade axe-head formed pendant with flanges to the slender edges, the blade edge with slight outward flare; and a green hardstone section of a disc, possibly serpentine, drills holes to either end -- the first, 4½in. (11.5cm.) wide. (4)
