This scene was most likely based on a print made after an original by Rubens. Many versions exist differing in colour scheme, design and the way the subjects are painted. Cf. F.et N. Hervouët and Y. Bruneau, op.cit., p. 310 for five almost similar examples which do not include the above mentioned plate.
