A FINE COPY OF A VERY RARE SUITE OF PLATES illustrating the villa 'Neu Richmond', built in Braunschweig in 1833 by the architect Carl Theodor Ottmer (1800-1843). He drew his inspiration from Papworth's 'A Vicarage House', 1818, and other English models. Only 3 copies traced in institutions: Braunschweig, Hannover and the Royal Library in the Hague. Not in ABPC-online or JAP.

Cooke, 1832. 4° (287 x 221mm). 18 mounted plates (only, of 24, lacking plates 11-16). (Mounts lightly spotted throughout, not affecting plates.) Text in recent plain wrappers, plates disbound, the whole contained in a 20th-century green leather-backed portfolio and slipcase. VERY RARE with only 3 copies on COPAC. (2)
