A SMALL DINGYAO DISH
NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY, 10TH-11TH CENTURY
With slightly curved sides flaring from the flat base to the petal-lobed rim, covered allover below the unglazed rim with a glaze of ivory tone falling in olive tears on the exterior; together with a small Junyao saucer dish, Northern Song dynasty, with shallow rounded sides flaring widely to the everted rim, covered inside and out with a milky-blue glaze thinning to mushroom on the edge of the rim and falling irregularly onto the circular foot ring
4 5/8 and 4 5/16 in. (12.1 and 11 cm.) diam. (2)

Dingyao dish: C. Edward Wells, Bridgewater, Connecticut, 1963.
Junyao dish: acquired prior to 1978.
