Lot Essay

Leonardus Venroy was born in Gouda and baptized on the 15th of November, 1734. He worked there and was a wine merchant and a municipal counsellor. He died on the 19th of May 1808. Venroy was well-to-do. He was very skilled in de pennekunst. And he not only copied engravings but other works of art as well.
He depicted King Willem I and his Queen.
