The helmet with deep furrows running from front to back and lateral and perpendicular rows of standing rivets, the whole lacquered black, the wakidate (side crests) with tufts of hair, the three-tier itajikoro (neck guard of solid plates) laced in blue and white, the menpo (facemask) with detachable nose with gilt teeth and red-lacquered upper lip, with a white moustache and four-section yodarekake (throat guard) of black-lacquered itazane
