A VICTORIAN SILVER-GILT CASKET
MARK OF FREDERICK ELKINGTON, BIRMINGHAM, 1873
Shaped oblong and with cast double column and ram's mask corners, the long ends each with a plaque cast with classical figures, the short ends with applied winged female bust, the hinged cover with a finial cast as Cupid and with four applied cast birds, wood lined, marked underneath and on cover, the base further stamped 'Elkington & Co.', the inside of the cover applied with a later plaque chased with putto, mark of Elkington and Co., Birmingham, 1898
