A GREEK BRONZE HELMET OF CORINTHIAN TYPE
ARCHAIC PERIOD, CIRCA MID 6TH CENTURY B.C.
Hammered from a single heavy sheet, of domed form, the neck-guard flaring, the cheek-guards pointed at their ends, the almond-shaped eye holes beveled at the edges and contoured at their outer corners, the rounded nose-guard protruding, bordered along the perimeter with punched tongues and tiny raised rivets, a rivet preserved at the crown of the head, with perforations in pairs transversely along the sides, a perforation at the front of each cheek-guard
