A Porcelain Tete-A-Tete Tea Service
by the Kornilov Brothers Factory, St Petersburg, 1835-1843
Comprising a covered tea-pot with moulded handle and spout, a milk jug with moulded handle and wide spout for pouring, a covered sugar bowl with two symmetrically placed handles, two cylindrical cups each on spreading foot and moulded handle, and two circular saucers, the blue ground body of each decorated with gilt moulded rocaille cartouches framing views of St Petersburg and Moscow, the blue ground body further decorated with gilt foliate designs, marked under bases with impressed Cyrillic mark 'BR KO'
Tea-pot 3 7/8 in. (9.7 cm.) high, milk jug 2 7/8 in (7.2 cm.) high, sugar bowl 3½ in (8.8 cm.) high, each cup 2¼ in. (5.7 cm.) high, each saucer 5 7/8 in (15 cm.) diameter (7)
