A bronze figure of Parvati
South India, late Vijayanagara period, 16th/17th century
Standing in graceful tribangha on a lotus base over a plinth with lotiform band, her right hand raised in katakamudra with the palm centered by a raised lotus, clad in a dhoti incised with a lotus motif and secured with a festooned belt, adorned with various beaded jewelry, the face with elongated eyes flanked by pendulous earlobes, the curls of hair piled into a tall jatamukuta and backed by a shirashchakra
