FOUR BONE CARVINGS
SHANG/WESTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, 12TH-8TH CENTURY BC
Comprising three fragments carved on both sides with various motifs including taotie masks, dragon bands, bands of blades, and on the small greenish-stained fragment with a dragon with scaled body shown in profile; the fourth a small turquoise-stained hollow fish carved in the round and realistically detailed with scales and eyes, pierced behind the open mouth
