Patek Philippe chronographs are one of the most sought-after complicated timepieces because they unite elegance of form with precision of function. Reference 5970 was introduced at the Basel Fair in April 2005 and replaced the celebrated reference 3970. This present lot houses Calibre CH 27-70, based on an ébauche crafted by Nouvelle Lémania and featuring the traditional hand-bevaled bridges, column wheel with chamfered crown and heart shaped cam for chronograph resetting function. Comprising 407 hand-finished parts, this movement also features the famous Gyromax balance wheel and it beats at 18,000 semi-oscillations per hour guaranteeing time-keeping precision to a fifth of a second.
