The present miniature derives from a portrait by John Downman, R.A. in the Spencer Collection at Althorp which was exhibited London, Burlington Fine Arts Club, Exhibition of Portrait Miniatures, 1889, Case XXXII, no. 36, as by Richard Cosway (lent by Hon. R. Spencer).
