Meiji period (circa 1900), sealed Sakigake [workshop of Namikawa Sosuke, 1847-1910]
Decorated in colored, partially wired enamels with egrets wading in a shallow pond with flowering water plants and reeds on a grey ground changing to pale yellow at the top to simulate the effect of dawn light; inlaid silver wire seal on brown enamel base, rims shakudo over copper, interiors brown enamel
