A MASSIVE FAMILLE ROSE ENAMELED BALUSTER VASE
LATE 19TH CENTURY
Painted on one side with a large rectangular reserve of the Eight Immortals amidst crashing waves, and on the other with a scene of a dignitary arriving on horseback and being greeted by an offical and his entourage, separated by shaped reserves of birds and flowers and 'precious objects', all reserved on a ground of leafy flowering vines bearing double gourds, the neck painted in similar fashion between borders of upright leaves and ruyi heads, and wan emblems
