Lot Essay

We are grateful to Professor Dr. Günther Gercken, Lütjensee, Germany, for his assistance in cataloguing this and the following two lots. Professor Gercken is currently preparing the new catalogue raisonné of prints by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner.

Günther Gercken has been able to trace only five impressions of this print, probably including the present impression, which seems to be identical with the one sold at Gutekunst & Klipstein, Berne, in 1948.
