Each painted with a tri-lobed panel of birds on branches reserved within a chased gold band, the lobed rim with double gilt bands suspending fruiting oak branches

The present dishes are from a service of 586 pieces presented by Louis XV to the King of Sweden upon the occasion of the latter's visit to Paris. See Versailles et les tables royales en Europe, exhibition catalogue, Musée National des Châteaux de Versailles et de Trianon, Paris, 1993, p. 337.
