Arabic manuscript on buff paper, 243ff. as numbered plus 2 fly-leaves, each folio with 12ll. of black naskh, punctuation in red and blue, roundels betweeen verses in gold and polychrome, Persian interlinear translation in red naskh written diagonally, text between gold, blue and black rules and margins, the margins with cusped illuminated roundels, marginal juz' and verse markings in gold, various later marginal annotations, sura headings in gold thuluth on white cartouches within blue and gold illuminated floral roundels, opening bifolio with illumination in blue, black and gold, illumination slightly smudged and repaired, folios with slight staining, some folios loose in binding, possibly contemporary pale brown morocco with flap stamped with panels of floral lattice within flowering vine border, marbled paper doublures
