Lot Essay

Edwin J.D. Bodley took over the china division of Samuel Alcock's Hill Pottery at Burslem with his associate Mr. Diggory in 1870, but by 1876 Bodley was running the factory on his own. It continued to produce quality porcelain until 1892.
