By the Gardner Factory, Moscow, circa 1820
Each circular, the centre of one painted with a portrait of a young gentleman in green smoking jacket, white frilled shirt, embroidered crimson cap and holding a pipe on sky blue background, within a gilt border, the rim with ciselé scrolling floral motifs, the centre of the other painted with a portrait of a lady, in rose dress and umber cashmere shawl, wearing a pearl earring and necklace on sky background within a similarly gilt border and rim, both marked under base with underglaze blue and impressed factory marks
